This blog will walk you through setting up a 2-way sync between an Airtable View and other cloud applications using Byteline data sync. For this example, we’ll use Webflow as the second app, but the steps apply equally to any supported Byteline app such as Google Sheets, Notion, ClickUp, and more.
Note: This blog covers how to configure filtered Airtable view and does not apply to the default Grid View.
When syncing with a filtered Airtable view, issues arise if a record from Webflow does not meet the filter criteria defined in Airtable. In such cases, Byteline data sync might create a new record for each unmatched Webflow CMS item, assuming they don’t exist in Airtable.
To avoid this issue, you can set up a Byteline filter on the Webflow side of the sync. This filter should match the filter condition on your Airtable view. You can do this setup when creating a new data sync or editing an existing one.
Let’s say you have an Airtable View named “Published View” with a filter condition where the status column is set to “published”. To ensure proper syncing, configure a Byteline data sync filter on the Webflow side, matching the Webflow status (the collection field mapped to the Airtable status column) to “published”.
Configure your filter condition by clicking the filter button as shown in the above screenshot.
By following these steps, you can ensure your data sync accurately works between Airtable and your chosen cloud applications.
